[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The ducks are generally monogamous, although these bonds generally last only a single year. Larger species and the more sedentary species (like fast river specialists) tend to have pair-bonds that last numerous years. Most duck species breed once a year, choosing to do so in favorable conditions (spring/summer or wet seasons). Ducks also tend to make a nest before breeding, and after hatching to lead their ducklings to water. Mother ducks are very caring and protective of their young, but may abandon some of their ducklings if they are physically stuck in an area they cannot get out of (including nesting in an enclosed courtyard) or are not prospering due to genetic defects or sickness brought about by hypothermia, starvation, or disease. Ducklings can also be orphaned by inconsistent late hatching where a few eggs hatch after the mother has abandoned the nest and led her ducklings to water.

Hi George
Brilliant. What a background?. How did you get the colorful surrealistic background? Duckling as well as its image in the water are sharp and perfect. Some more notes about the context of the photo would have been useful. Thanks a lot for the beautiful photo.

All the best.

With warm regards
Bala

Hi George, one of the most artistic way to take a pic of this nwe born duck, fantastic colors made by the reflections on the water, and fantastic reflections of its head too,2 points are not enough! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello George,
When I clicked on the gallery tonight your image immediately jumped out...what gorgeous colors you have captured!! Not sure what the reflection consisted of, but it made for a spectacular image. Love the way it's head reflected perfectly....you can even see the catchlight in it's eye.
To me the duckling seemed just a tad soft on focus, hope you don't mind, but I wanted to try a WS.

An amazing and colorful artwork like this picture could go on children publishing books:-)

Genius ... is the only adjective I can articulate ...
I think it's a picture that can be displayed in response to anyone who feels that life is not worth ...
I truly believe that a picture like this can save a suicidal.

All praise to you.

Surrealistic background! Curious but artistic effect created by the play of the light, I believe.
You have transcended the mundane in your photography now and thus stand apart and aloof on this miserably truncated site, George.

wow, really artistic, TFS Ori

Wow, very exciting colors and composition. Draws the eye and makes you ponder on the source of the myriad background that surrounds the little duckling. Excellent work, thanks for sharing!

Hello George - Attractive colour on the layer of water. I like the way you have followed the Rule here. Highly recommended Photograph to see the use of R.O.3rd. Thanks for sharing. Regards and have a nice WE- Srikumar

Hi George
Brilliant image. Very artistic.

I so know you, Duckling! Yay. And thankfully, you don't look ugly in any sense (to some people, you might!) ;)
This is a wonderful capture, George. Framing, it feels like, needs to be slightly changed.. but that's been suppressed by this beautiful play of light.
Good work.
