Wahlberg's Eagle

I had captured this picture just after a heavy rain at Kruger National Park. Light wasn't in my favour, although it was the time of Sunset. I used flash here to illuminate shadow area of the drenched bird.

Wahlberg's eagle (Hieraaetus wahlbergi) is a bird of prey that is native to sub-Saharan Africa, where it is a seasonal migrant in the woodlands and savannas.[1] It is named after the Swedish naturalist Johan August Wahlberg. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae.

Wahlberg's eagle hunts reptiles, small mammals, and birds. The call is a whistled kleeah-kleeah-kleeah, while perched.

Wahlberg's eagle breeds in most of Africa south of the Sahara. It is a bird of woodland, often near water. It builds a stick nest in the fork of a tree or the crown of a palm tree. The clutch is one or two eggs.

Hi Srikumar, another masterwork and a great demo of your class and culture in the photographic world. Perfect use of flash to have brightness on the eagle and to show the perfect colorful sky in this exposure, great great shot another time from Kruger! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hello.
Beautiful light on the background and impressive bird.
Greetings.

Hi Sri,
That's beautiful. Although the eagle is a bit too camouflaged to the wood, details are lovely - while the color palette of the sky is incredible. Fantastic shot!
Have a great Christmas (if you celebrate it), kind regards, László

Hi Srikumar,

The bird is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the Wahlberg's Eagle. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky. Have a nice day.

Pierre
