Thanks Callie, it's wonderful, although I am feeling very very sorry for that Dragonfly. Beautiful capture, I think the bird looking up adds alot to this, not that it needed it!

Poor dragon... Very good composition. Colours are little faded or my monitor break down? Anyway - very good action picture.

Very colourful and beautiful bird.
Very good composition and details and nice colours.
Stirrer just as I things are calming down, you post this! Now everyone is going to retaliate with all kinds of things in the mouth!
Great capture and I wonder if dragons contains lots of vitamens?
Mooi man!!!

Callie, This a great capture! I like the light from above, the Bee-Eater lookin'-up with that "Dragon Slayin'" long beak it has. The follow-up would have the portrait of this bird smilin' with a big lump in its throat!! Great post!
Looks as if he's asking the missus up there "Oy, do you want him rare, medium or well done?" ;-))
Much as I hate to see dragons come to grief, this is a very good capture, nice diagonal, clean background.

Wonderful shot Callie. What a great gallery you have here on TE. Composition is excellent here and the subject really stands out from the soft background. Good post.

Well I surpose its a novel way to get a another dragon into an image ;0))))#. just simply very nice callie , the lighting of the head and throat + prey really makes it zing.

A man after my own heart. This is how I got into color photography. Birding.
This is an excelent capture of a clubtail with food. Nicely cropped and crisp focus.
How I wish I had a 2x converter for my 300mmm.
I dared a W S Callie, not because I do not like your original capture but because I wanted to see it with more accentuated colors, just for myself. But when I saw the result, I decided to share it.
I like birds and this one is exeptional. TFS.
Good shot! The pose on this bee-eater is excellent, although maybe we should call him a dragonfly-eater? Note is good. Focus and DOF are spot on, and the composition is beyond reproach, however it does seem a little washed out to me. I was about to post a Workshop for you, but Arjuna beat me to the punch - and he's done such a good job I won't worry about loading PS :) Anyway, excellent capture :-D
I'm sure I've asked you this before, but when you see the calibration chart at the very bottom of the page can you see all the squares? I'm particularly curious as to whether you can see a difference between 0 and 1?

Quelle belle capture photographique ! Et bonne prise aussi pour le bel oiseau, mais cela ne doit pas être l'avis de la pauvre libellule ;-)
Well done !

Isn't it the early bird that catches the, in this case, Ictinogomphus ferox
Thanks for sharing!

Splendid capture Callie. The only way to counter this would be to show a cat with a bird in it's beak.... I'll organize a trip soon. :) Lovely shot, well done.

I saw these guys in Zimbabwe this weekend. The're really stunning. Closest I got to them was about an eigth of the picture.
Very well captured.
By the way, don't they normally go for bees
