My life is blue, Blue is my life, since I’m without you. A very old song, by whom I do not know.
This one is for especially for Japie who showed me some tricks, like the frame and the URL. This is the same Malachite Kingfisher posted HERE and ALSO HERE .
These guys are just so unbelievable beautiful, I can never see enough of them. It is a treat to travel down the Okavango River in Northern Botswana on a flat bottom boat and see them skimming across the water in an azure blue steak, swaying on a bulrush or papyrus stem overhanging the water or shaking the water drops from their feathers after a dip into the stream. They are small & fast and do not always oblige to a give one a change of framing them in the viewfinder. Enjoy this radiant little blue birdie with me.

Una vez más mi amigo... y cuantas más serán en el futuro de esta maravillosa ave.

That blue is so vibrant it jumps off the page! What an incredible little gem! Wonderful shot of this Callie. We have Kingfishers here is the US, but not like this! WOW.

I preferred the one on "HERE" link. It's seems like this one is not entirely in focus.

Callie. I like Lesleys "so vibrant it jumps-off the page" comment on the blue seen in your bird. It almost glows! Great comp. & well done!

Another excellent shot of this Kingfisher, It's impossible to tire of these, perfect.

Lovely shot! You've outdone yourself - this one's gone into my favourites too... DOF is spot on, and the composition is excellent - and the colours, wow! The only thing I'd suggest is a little NeatImage to knock the noise out of the background, and possibly some more fine USM to increase detail on the bird. Wondeful capture :-D

P.S. I've posted a Workshop for you, see what you think!

They truly are our jewels. Callie, I owuld love a shot like this. Well done!

What a colours! Excellent sharpness and composition. Kingfisher is in Polish Zimorodek - 'winterborn'.

Hey, I almost missed this beauty, although this colour is not so easily missed ;-)) Beautiful capture like the other, but with more of my favourite blue in this one ;-))
I was thinking perhaps a tiny fraction oof, but I think Adrian hit the nail when suggesting a bit more USM instead.

Great composition and the subject was obviously very cooperative for you to get so many excellent shots. Well done again.

Fantastic....superb......wonderful colours of this little "ijsvogel", a beautiful bird and a great sharp shot, Callie!

Hi Callie,
this is a superbs capture of the KF.
Excellent clarity and sharpness. Well composed in its diagonal placing of the branch and slightly off the centre of focus.
you have splendidly managed this beautiful bird in a very captivating and impressive way.
Brilliant piece of work.

Regards,
Foozi
