|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|The largest Kingfisher in the region, the male is unmistakable with its long heavy bill, its dark, white-spotted back and rufous breast. The female has a rufous belly.. Does not hover over water as frequently as the Pied Kingfisher preferring to sit on wires or branches overhanging water. Habitat : Wooded streams and dams, fast-flowing river in mountains and coastal lagoons. Common but thinly distributed throughout, being absent from the dry west.|

Hi Farid, very nice capture of this Kingfisher. Capturing a dark eye on a dark background is very difficult but you have done a great job on this one. The presentation is excellent.
Nice portrait of this male giant kingfisher.
It's really amazing to see them hunting.

The focus on the eyes here is impressive and the details very nice and sharp. Also the DOF is excellent, giving you a wonderful monochrome BG.
