Here is a shot from my holiday in South Africa where I spend more then 10 days in the Kruger Park. I took this photograph during the Sunset Drive in the famous Thornybush Game Reserve. We were lucky to find this pride of 6 lions relaxing. The distance between us and the big cats was less then 3 meters... An amazing experience :-)

Nous avons eu la chance de rencontrer ce groupe de 6 lions alors qu’ils se reposaient. La distance entre ces fauves et nous était de moins de 3 mètres... Une expérience extraordinaire ;-)

Hi Stéph,
A nice image, with her paw raised it looks as if she is whispering something to the other Lioness, perhaps about you :-) Again a nice clear shot with good detail and good textures in the fur. Must be quite an experience to get so close to these animals in their natural habitat.

hi stephane,
absolutely the best pose i've seen today.
the look in the eye is captured well and framing is OK.

Hi Stéph

A belated welcome to TN. I hope you will enjoy your stay and before long feel as if you’re one of the family. I am sure you will gain to learn a lot about nature and photography from this site while obviously sharing your experiences and learnings with us as well and that we will still see many of your lovely photos.

This is a great moment you’ve captured here of this mother and her adolescent boy. It shows a lovely moment of pride interaction and while mom was keeping a wary eye on you it seems as if this youngster is searching for some assurance from her. It sure is an adrenaline pumping moment to be so close the 'king of the beasts'.

Your composition is great, with good POV and cropping. The frame was tastefully done – not over emphasised and distracting, but rather simplistic and pleasant. It seems like it might have been an overcast afternoon and you managed the exposure very well to capture the soft light and no harsh shadows or streaks of light. The colours are rather natural and the details are very sharp brought on by an excellent choice of aperture.

Very well done and TFS.

Bonjour Stephane, ce couple de lions faisant leurs toilettes est superbe. Bon piqué et magnifique attitude des fauves, félicitations, Didier.

Hi Stephane,
Pity her lovely eyes- a lioness can have really beautiful eyes-
are a bit soft.
Cute image. There's something religious about it.
Now I know:-)...the Judas Kiss.

Well done again, Stephane - a lovely tender moment you've captured of these beasts together.

this is a lovely picture of two lions.. very loving too!

I love this composition and crop.. i did try a workshop, do let me know what you think.
