Papio anubis
from www.serengeti.org
This is africas most widespread primate. It is olive-brown with sturdy limbs and a dog-like head. Their noses, lips, ears, hands and feet are black.
Living in savanna habitats, they build groups of typically 30 to 40 members, half of them immature, and females outnumbering males 2or 3 to 1.

The females, lightening in colour with age, inherit their social rank in the complex hierarchy.
Olive Baboons feed on a enormous variety of invertebrates, but adults are known to hunt even hares and young antelopes, without sharing their prey.
