[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It's cool to see the same behavior on big lions as you see on your own housecat! The lions are just big cats, and the cats are just small lions!

A young male stretching out in the shadows of a big tree in Selous Game Park in Tanzania.

Located in southern Tanzania, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest game reserve and one of the best game viewing areas in Africa. It really is a hidden gem! It’s much quieter than the Northern parks, the rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood to a park that hosts phenomenal volumes of game including Africa's largest elephant and wild dog populations and probably it's largest buffalo, hippo, crocodile and lion prides.

Hallo Ronny
I like this very informal image, showing the lion in a very relaxed stage. Unusual, but nice point of view, great composition and very clear details of the animals prominent facial features. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna

Hello Ronny,

This is very good photo with excellent quality, considering it is int he shades and low light. What I like more is that it is different than most, I like the playfulness and the easy and spontaneous moment. The lion is not sitting so perfectly like a portrait shot. This makes me think of the movie the Lion King where the lion are full of charactoristic and personality. These one seem to be smiling as she lay there day dream about something :)

Hello Ronny,
I have never heard of this particular game reserve before. I Googled it and found out that it is a massive 44,800 square kilometers Wow!! that's huge!
I'm sure you found it quite interesting and a great place to capture some neat images such as this little beauty. The lion as you already stated, reminds us of an ordinary house cat in a playful pose.
Love the vertical framing and exceptional detail. White balance is perfect, rendering true and natural colors and exposure is right on the money. Great shot!!
Ron
