[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Lilac-throated roller (Coracias caudata)

This attractive bird is one of the most commonly seen of the Rollers. An inhabitant of dry open brush and wooded areas, it perches prominently on bushes, trees . It preys on lizards and invertebrates but is also known to take small birds. Lilac-breasted Rollers are also quite unbothered by people, allowing you to get very close in for a good shot

Very good POV and detail. I think colours can be a little more saturated.

I also like this bird - posted one recently as well. A little low on contrast, but that can be easily fixed. TFS

It is an excellent pix.If I am given a chance I would have given a +.6 EV to compensate the background of sky light.

Good colours and detail.

bonjour sebastien
un oiseau de toute beauté,belles couleurs bonne mise au point et bon POV.

Hi Sebastien
These are lovely birds and they make for beautiful photos. Yours is up there with this fine composition. The only drawback might be the fact that the colours might have lost some crispness possibly due to the backlight reading of the camera sensors and the fact that it is the shady side of the bird. I've posted a workshop to try and address some of the advice given by other critiques and added a bit of my own perspective. I hope you find it in order.
PS. Just for the record (and I realize that I'm not confronted with a unique scenario), but due to the fact that one have to work with the posted version of the photo (which is only 800x532) and not with the orriginal version, one tend to loose quite a bit of oemf with the final version of the workshop.

Nice bird with beautiful colors.
There are plenty of them in Africa.
