[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I saw this heron in the crater.
Can anyone identify this one for me ?

I've seen hundreds of Grey Herons so I refuse to believe it is one of those. The most likely one before that is Great Blue Heron. But the colours aren't right. Then I thought Black Headed Heron would be the one but the shots I've seen of that is not even half a match.

Hi Staale,
It is the Black-headed Heron. I've seen them in Gambia.
Though not the sharpest of shots, you've composed it well with excellent BG to present a pretty good portrait.
TFS, regards, Ivan

Good portrait composition, Staale, although there might be a little more distance from the point of the beak to the edge of the photo. But that's really a matter of pedantry. I really like the shot. Nice background.

Hi Staale.
You have shared a very well composed, detailed and framing shot of this cute bird. I like the sharpness of the main object and extremely blurred BG. Your shot is really perfect. But I am interested why have you applied such high shutter speed?
My best regards and TFS.
