Hello my Friends!
First of all I would like to wish all of you all the best in new year!!! :>
I hope that this new year will be very good for all of you, and you will take a lot of great pictures!!! :>

New year brings many new things, new advantures and o course new... challenges!!! :> And today I would like to invite you to "stay face-to-face" with the first one of them. The challenge for today is: to find the creature presented on this image ;>

I'm waiting for your suggestions! :>

added day after:
Thank you for comments and suggestions to this creature! :>

And the winner is: Ivan who correctly wrote that this insect belongs to family Tetrigidae (Orthoptera).

This is a juveline specimen (note that the wings are not fully developed) - a larva belonging to the nymph type (for additional details about classification of insect larvae please see here).

As you can easy see, the larva is perfectly camouflaged.
This is a typical method of "self-defence" among Orthoptera.
If you like, please feel free to look here (larvae of Acrididae) and here for (an adult specimen of Acrididae).

All the best from winter Lodz!!!

Hallo Radomir
Wow! Now this is what I call great camouflage! It almost looks as if this hopper worked in some mine and has just come up from under the earth, all covered with dust. Even though the texture on the hoppers body is much similar to the sand it is sitting on, one can still see the prominent features and details, and I think it is its antennas that revealed the hidden treasure. Thanks for sharing a great macro. Best regards.
