Cuverville Island or ╬le de Cavelier de Cuverville is a dark, rocky island lying in Errera Channel between Arctowski Peninsula and the northern part of RongÚ Island, off the west coast of Graham Land. Cuverville Island is located at 64░41′S 62░38′W / -64.683, -62.633. Cuverville Island was discovered by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1897-1899) under Adrien de Gerlache, who named it for J.M.A. Cavelier de Cuverville (1834-1912), a vice admiral of the French Navy.
In summer Cuverville is often home to a well-sized rookery of gentoo penguins.

Hello Ferran !
What a wonderdul snowy landscape to look at, on a Christmas day without snow ! :-) You managed exposure vers nicely on the white snow, even though there were sunny ad shady parts. Composition and POV are splendid, too. Very well done !

Hi Ferran,

An amazingly beautiful landscape of the Antarctic. Wonderful exposure and focus! The composition is marvelous. I have asked people how cold summers were and I think this picture answers my question. I would love to go there but I freeze when the temperature goes below 70F.

Hello Ferran,
Very good seascape or island landscape photo with a nice story attached. Beautiful light in the foreground composition. Matching hazy background.
Well done

Hola Ferran! Impresionant, nomes puc dirte que es una preciositat de paisatge gelat amb un blanc molt ben aconseguit , una imatge preciosa!! Bones festes per a t˙ i els teus! Carme.

hello Ferran

Antarctica! One of the places in the world which offers the penguins that impress me tremendously. Very nice cool tone of the scenery to show the landscape in well composed view.

Nice focus sharpness. Must be cold here, how many days you stayed there?

tfs, bill

Hi Ferran,
A view I would not recognize as a summer day. I guess its that humans consider summer to be without ice and snow, but that can't be said for the artic or antartic.
The photo is very spectacular and show us the wild and untouched nature of this baren place. I like the light and the different layers of mountains.

I always like the clean, fresh appearance of such blue and white polar shots. You managed the exposure quite well considering you had sun light on a lot of the snow and some shadow areas as well. It is a bold composition which I like.

Evelynn : )

Hallo Ferran
This is a very beautiful landscape and it is a pleasure to look at it. To me it has an atmosphere of spotlessness and purity. It looks so clean and fresh. The snow comes across so smooth, almost as if a container of icing sugar was turned over from the sky and dropped on the mountains. The light is really great and the overall view is stunning.
Best regards

Josep Ignasi.
