I just came buck from USA. Onfortunately i dintn have the opportunity to take any nature photos. These time I want to show you another antarctic seascape. Icefalls from Admiralty Bay.

Antarctica is Earth's southernmost continent, overlying the South Pole. Situated in the southern hemisphere and largely south of the Antarctic Circle, Antarctica is surrounded by the Southern Ocean. At 14.4 million km², it is the fifth-largest continent in area after Asia, Africa, North America, and South America; in turn, Europe and Australia are smaller. Some 98% of Antarctica is covered by ice, which averages at least 1.6 kilometers (1.0 mi) in thickness.

On average, Antarctica is the coldest, driest and windiest continent, and has the highest average elevation of all the continents. Since there is little precipitation, except at the coasts, the interior of the continent is technically the largest desert in the world. There are no permanent human residents and there is no evidence of any existing or pre-historic indigenous population. Only cold-adapted plants and animals survive there, including penguins, fur seals, mosses, lichen, and many types of algae.

The name Antarctica comes from the Greek antarktikos (ανταρκτικός), meaning "opposite to the Arctic." Although myths and speculation about a Terra Australis ("Southern Land") date back to antiquity, the first confirmed sighting of the continent is commonly accepted to have occurred in 1820 by the Russian expedition of Mikhail Lazarev and Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen. However, the continent remained largely neglected for the rest of the 19th century because of its hostile environment, lack of resources, and isolation.

Czesc Krzysiek!

Kolejne mrozace krew w zylach zdjecie :-) Zadziwiajaca czystosc nieba i lodu. Mimo, ze wole cieplejsze okolice, bardzo mi sie podoba :-)

A w USA, w ktorym rejonie byles?

Czesc Krzystof!

Hello Chris - (excuse the shortened version, it's easier to remember)
It's my first son's name :)
A most excellent capture, simple beauty captured in a most grandeous fashion..
There is absolutely nothing not to like about this image..
Very well done!
Howard

This is a beautiful image Krzysztof. The exposure and sharpness are perfect. I would be tempted to make the waterline horizontal even if at the angle you were shooting it is accurate. It would feel better I think. It is a lovely shot.

Evelynn ; )

It gives me the creeps.... it's "cold".

A beauty shot, well done

Hello Krzysztof,
I agree with Samuele, it looks soooo cold!! The blue-white colours are gorgeous and sharpness excellent. I like the sunlight too and the reflections in the water. A brilliant capture.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Gratulacje
Ania

Hi Krzysztof,
This is a beauty. Lovely light and shadow effect and a fabulous reflection on the clear waters. Superb exposure and I like the blue sky which sets up a nice tone. I can feel the chill down my spine. Excellent POV to capture this magnificent scene and ambience and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Krzystof,
A wonderful serene photo of this very special area. The golden colors of the rock and the low sun has created a warm mood in a cold atmosphere. Superb work on the exposure and sharpness. The slighly distorted reflection is wonderful.

Hi Krzysztof.
Once more your tremendous Antarctic seascape picture. Excellent view and POV. I like nice cold but rich colours, crisp sharpness of the image (so suitable for north objects and views), impressive composition and amazing mirror reflections. I also like interesting note. TFS and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hello Krzysztof

A beautiful and tranquil photo of this icefalls. The placid water has deep colour saturation and lovely reflections. The POV and DOF are wonderful, and the composition is excellent. The shot is well divided into sky, land and water.TFS

Rob

The placid surface of water combines into an attractive composition with the snow-covered mountains in this wonderful shot, Krzysztof.
It is great fun going back to these lovely pictures from your trip to Antarctica.
Thanks for sharing thisimage and best wishes.

hi Krzysztof!
mighty and beautiful with
great exposure and a nice
reflection!

This is a very simple and most efective composition. The blue cast on the overall image makes it very cold and ethereal. The chosen hour of the day was perfect to give some form to the mountain with all that shadows and highlights. Very well done.
