There are so many Astercaceae and Centaurinae species in the Caucasus, its a headache to identify them. This one is Chartolepis pterocaula. It has typical papery flowering head bracts.

A great shot of this unique looking flowering plant. I really like the vertical framing as well as the fine detail you managed to capture. Excellent DOF and just the right exposure. A new plant for me and quite attractive. Nice work!!
