Ta Prohm Untouched
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In the Angkor Wat area, a temple called Ta Prohm was left untouched, that is the forest was allowed to remain as it was reclaiming the region. Other temples have had the trees removed. Good in some ways, sad in others, as the trees add so much to the walls, roofs, and chambers, yet the trees distroy the stone and cause deterioration of the integrity of the structures. This wall segment was build perhaps as late as the 12th century by Jayavarman II. Hundreds of trees have taken root - a unique and very interesting place. |

Hi David,
I like the motive You have presented- in is a difficult conflict between the nature conservation and protecting the old structures. I think it's good that some places stays untouched. good note and nice photo.
cheers!
