[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My shot today is of one of the few birds I sighted in Zhuozhou City, China. As my shot depicts, it was a low-light situation. During my 15 day visit, all i found was a hazy sky, bare trees all around, and very cold and windy conditions. I was happy to see some birds around; house sparrows with little variation in their plumage from those we have here in Pakistan, some finch varieties and these light-vented bulbuls. The bird in picture was away from me and i tried my best to get a steady shot. I succeeded to some extent in my effort. I have sharpened the image, re-sized it, sharpened it again a little to the extent it didn't look over-sharpened to me, did a little cleaning from the BG which was necessary as sharpening makes the BG grainier with every step. Wikipedia has following details:

The Light-vented Bulbul (Pycnonotus sinensis), also known as the Chinese Bulbul, is a bird and a member of the bulbul family.
The particular characteristic is the large white patch covering the nape and the sides of its black head. It also sings very brightly and variably with a 'cha-ko-lee...cha-ko-lee...' sound.
The bulbul is common in East Asia, including Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. The birds of Taiwan are of an endemic subspecies.
In Hong Kong, the Light-vented Bulbul is abundant in lightly wooded areas, cultivated land and shrubland, whereas the Red-whiskered Bulbul is the common bulbul of suburbs and urban parks. In Taiwan, however, the Light-vented Bulbul dominates all of these habitats, though it is replaced along the east coast by Styan's Bulbul.

Hello Akbar,

Hope you are well. A wonderful contribution indeed from your recent visit to China. I had seen the species in the field guides only and this is a sort of first hand encounter provided so kindly by you. The image has no flaw despite the explanation in your wonderfully written note. It is a very fine shot for a proper identification of species once one is in the field.A beautiful bird, has all the peculiarities of the bulbul we have here. TFS, take care,

warm regards/Abid

Hello Akbar

The warmer color tones of the plumage with the light
are a big part of the beauty of the photo, very fine POV
with appropriate vertical framing and with the branch being
framed diagonally in the image it adds dynamism to the photo, TFS
