[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The butterfly I'm posting today is called "the Holly Blue". I captured it when it was perching on a fern at a slope on the Baiyun Hill.
According to the Wikipedia, the Holly Blue (Celastrina argiolus) is a butterfly that belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family and is native to Eurasia and North America.

The Holly Blue is a beautiful butterfly, with pale silver-blue wings spotted with pale ivory dots.

Hi John,i think that this isn't a Celastrina Argioulus, but i don't know the name of this small lycaena, the details are not the best, too soft on the wings, you could be better.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Ciao John, great macro of lovely small butterfly, I never see before and don't ricognize specie, but it isbn't the Holly Blue, excellent clarity, wonderful natural colors and splendid light, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello John,
This species lives also in our countries, however it looks a little bit different.
Interesting the composition with the butterfly posed on the fern which gives a graphical aspect to the shot. Nice all in green shot.
Thanks a lot
Anne
