Brown shrike (Lanius cristatus)
Like all true shrikes, the brown shrike is a sit-and-wait predator, hunting from a perch.
Brown shrikes have been known to defend a feeding territory, from which it will drive away other birds.
Brown shrikes mainly eat invertebrates, but have been reported to feed on reptiles and amphibians as well.
