[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Crows are members of a widely distributed genus of birds, Corvus, in the family Corvidae. Ranging in size from the relatively small pigeon-size jackdaws (Eurasian and Daurian) to the Common Raven of the Holarctic region and Thick-billed Raven of the highlands of EthiopiaThe crow genus makes up a third of the species in the Corvidae family. Crows appear to have evolved in Asia from the corvid stock, which had evolved in Australia.
The House Crow (Corvus splendens), also known as the Colombo Crow is a common bird of the Crow family that is of Asian origin but now found in many parts of the world, It is between the Jackdaw and the Carrion Crow in size (40 cm in length) but is relatively slimmer than either. The forehead, crown, throat and upper breast are a richly glossed black, whilst the neck and breast are a lighter grey-brown in colour. The wings, tail and legs are black. There are regional variations in the thickness of the bill and the depth of colour in areas of the plumage.

Wonderful shot. Excellent exposure. Good light, colour, POV and composition. Well done!Regards Siggi

Hi, Joydeb
What a character! The subtle tones of grey through black are very nicely illustrated here, along with the fine feather details - all thanks to the way the morning light falls on the bird. Well done - it's not easy to photograph black birds well.
Regards, Nigel.
