[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We were just approaching
Tonglu. It was late afternoon.
The sun was preparing itself to
set as everyday. Golden-red light
reflected in snow capped
mountains. At left beside
silhouetted mountain you can
see world's 3rd highest peak
Kanchenjunga followed by Pandim
etc. Tonglu (10000 ft) is in the
trek route of Sandakphu.
Though you can't find it in
conventional route. From
Meghma you have to leave the
conventional route to trek
about 2km with a steep uphill to
reach this place. Not many
trekker generally used to visit
Tonglu in their trek to
Sandakphu, but it is a nice place
with a single trekker's hut which
is itself a beauty.
wide range of snow capped
peaks of Himalaya could be seen
from this place in clear day. We
were lucky to enjoy this view
from Tonglu. Hope you also enjoy

Fantastic ......

Hallo Subhendu,
a beautiful mountainscape, a great atmoshere.
Best regards

Dear Subhendu,
This is a breathtaking Landscape! I have never been in this part of the world, and the view of these mountains and colours of the sunset make me realise, what I have missed!

Where were you positioned when you took this shot - in a plane?

The point of view is very special and the natural colours make it a pleasure to view your work.

Have a nice evening
Kind regards from South Africa

Artistic mountainscape from your archives, Subhendu.
I travelled the Tunglu route to Sandakphu in Jan 1965 as a trainee at HMI Darjeeling and still remember the place.
Providentially, I have never returned to this region since then and pine for it now.
Thanks for sharing this image and best regards.
