COMMON SATYR

I am posting the second image of this rather unusual butterfly shot at an altitude of nearly 8000 feet.
I think this is a better capture than the first one.
Whatever little info I could gather about the species is appended to my first picture of this butterfly.
Thanks for looking and bye.

Hello Ram,
a nice presentation of this Satyride. In my opinion, this picture is even better than the last posted, the wing pattern is sharper and clearly seen. I will create a new THEME on Satyrinae soon and would like to include your picture. Is that o.k.?
Best wishes, Peter

Hello Ram,
unusual pattern combination and that for a butterfly at nearly 8000 feet. I guess there won't be that many pictures of this species.
Regards, Jacob

Hello Ram,

A wonderful, sharp posting!
Superb detail of wings - they look to be pleated! The antennae look like red hot pokers!
I like the composition; it has an interesting diagonal contruction.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ram,
a nice shotof this butterfly.
Quite sharp with great colours.
Good exposure.
Well done,
Joe

Quite a good shot Ram, I like the angled composition and the detaiils in the wings.
8000 ft is along way up, our highest mountain is not even 7000 ft.

Again a competition...the perch branch is as intricate and interesting as the subject. There is a glow to your colors....which must reflect well the way you perceive. Wonderful play. Very enjoyable and relaxing...

Hi Ram,
Splendid shot of this beautiful butterfly. Very neat and sharp image with the markings on its wings looking great. Among the greens it looks majestic and stand out well from the BG. Superb lighting and focus. Excellent POV to portray it in this classical pose and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

A well taken picture with little over exposure, that helped to balance the dark feature of the butterfly.Diagonal composition put some motion of the visual but almost similar green background (top left & bottom right trangle) is little disturbing .
