|Mt. Kailaish is in the background, as are many melting glaciers. The Himalayan mountains are steep, harsh and deadly. This river already full from glaciers melting, in a few weeks after this picture will wreck havoc. Landslides two years ago created a natural dam in Tibet. The waters escaped this year, washing down in a massive torrent. The river wiped out bridges, the only road, homes, farms and stranded hundreds of tourists (I was helicoptered out). The great beauty of nature attracts foreigners, but also can kill without warning.|

An amazing scene. Raw beauty. I will probably never get to these countries. I will just keep visiting thru your shots.
