[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
To continue with my loosely knit travalogue on my recent visit to the mountains, today I am posting the picture of some wild flowers I shot during the trip. As I stated earlier, the spring in the hills reached almost a month early this year.
When I was on my way to my current village from my ancestral village on the 26th of February, I noticed that some damp patches on the hillside were flush with these spring flowers. (See WORKSHOP)
I cannot name the plant in scientific terms, but I can describe it briefly. The plant grows very close to the ground, has big circular shaped dark green leaves and grows even in the cracks between vertical rock faces in my part of the Himalayas. Surprisingly, I did not see this plant during my extensive higher altitude treks in Nepal Himalayas in the last two decades of the 20th century.
The Rhododendron trees too were in full bloom and I took plenty of picture of them. I will post one shortly for your viewing.
The bottom-line is this: The cycle of seasons has changed drastically. Weather the nature is taking its own course, or we humans have caused this phenomenon, I can't say for sure.

Anyway, thanks for your kind visit.

Hi Ram. I am sorry i don't know the ID of this beautiful flower which looks like a small Rhododendron on the ground. You have taken them with good detail and rich colours. well done TFS.
Nick..

Have a nice weekend.

Bonjour Ram,
