Magpie Robin

The magpies are passerine birds of the crow family, Corvidae. The names 'jay' and 'magpie' are to a certain extent interchangeable, although this does not accurately reflect the evolutionary relationship between these birds. For example, the Eurasian Magpie seems more closely related to the Eurasian Jay than to the Oriental Blue and Green Magpies, whereas the Blue Jay is not closely related to either.[citation needed]

In Europe, "Magpie" is often used by English speakers as a synonym for the European Magpie, as there are no other magpies in Europe outside Iberia.

Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Corvidae

I picked this up from one of my archives. Hope you all like it.

Hello Ganesh

A well captured shot, with very good focus and sharp details. The crop is very tight, but the bird shows very well. The colours and lighting are very good. The plumage detail is wonderful.TFS

Hi Ganesh,
This is a very nice shot, but the bird is a magpie robin, not a white-throated fantail. This one's throat isn't white at all :) I like the details and the lighting, though it is a bit of a tight crop. TFS.

Hi ganesh,
very good shot of magpie robbin, black and white colours are not easy to capture but you have done excellent work.

This is an original POV and beautiful action caught! I like those details, natural exposure and beautiful catchlight. This is nicely done. Thanks,

Hello Ganesh,
I missed this fine capture of the Magpie Robin. Though the cropping is rather tight this is sharp and well presented from a good POV. Perhaps you ought to change your note sometime.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

This is a great photograph of a Magpie Ganesan!
Nice catch light in the eye!
Excellent DOF, POV and composition!
