With this post, I take a break from 'The Asian Elephant Series' and move to other subjects before coming back to continue this series.
Having said that, I'd like to remind one and all that these are an endangered species, and no matter how common this beauty is on the roads of India, in the wild where it belongs it is getting scarce...or should I say the wild is getting scarce for it??!!
Said to be the most intelligent of animals after man, with a memory few can rival, we are taking over its habitat...I wonder how we'd feel if someone came and encroached on our property!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

In my opinion this a good in Black and White but then I am an old fashioned guy who worked with it a long long time.....if given preference i would chose this over colour with exception of some which need colours.....but that's just me...and hence...I love it! Best to you and you Blessed Sister!

Hi Little Brother,

I was never a big black and white fan but this is incredible! Looks even better than it would in color. The eye, ears, skin and tusk are magnificent. A wonderful animal to begin with and you have done it full justice in this shot.

Hello Goldy,
Lovely shot of this Elephant, nice to see such a magnificent animal in it's natural surroundings. Really good detail and nicely composed shot.
Best regards Siggi

Good Morning Goldy,

I think most of us would share your love, respect and concern for this incredible animal.
I like your b&w entry. It portrays the fine textures and the character of the elephant and yet suggests that there is a worry about its future.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Superb Tusker snap Goldy. As usual you rock!

Hi L'il Bro,a nostalgic capture of this beauty from frontal POV.

Hi Goldy!

I'm impressed by your series and also touched by the fact that you also point out a sad aspect. I have talked about littering, you talk about an endangered species. Sometimes I believe that the human beings don't know what they do...

I like this simple, yet so pleasant and expressive picture very much. I also believe that the b&w conversion suits the subject very well.

Kind regards

what a majestic looking animal this is Goldy. The monochrome has reveled details which would have lost in colors.
Good picture and concept

and charm of the image, excellent black and white photo
