Slender Skimmer ...Couple
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the couple of Slender Skimmer or the Green Marsh Hawk a very common species of Dragonfly found in India.
This photo was taken in the mid morning light. The post monsoon early winter golden, red, yellow hues on the grass are quite evident. It was difficult to spot this pair in the grass and it was quite a while before it settled at a spot in the grass for enough time and with reasonably good access. |

The incredible mating postures adopted by dragonflies always fascinate me, Himanshu.
Your Slender Skimmers captured so well in this picture from your archives hold the position with evident success since it is only the male(?) who is clinging to a blade of grass using every limb at its disposal.
The busy background formed by autumnal hues of the flora somehow manages to gel with the composition.
