Shot it today in the wilderness of Lonavala. Of course, none other than Bayram was in my mind :) Can you see its infrared/night vision sensor at nostril location; that is how it is know as pit viper !!!

Trimeresurus Gramineus: This pit viper is tree green in colour, having a triangular head and a pit near the nose. It is locally known as Tan Sarp or Haranag. It is found in forests abounding with bamboo plantations. It grows to three feet in length, a foot in circumference and feeds on birds, lizards and small mammals. Its poison is vasotoxic and the victim of its bite can only be cured by a specific antivenin.

I am so glad to see this in image and not in person. Outside of Australia's dozens of venomous snakes this one alone scares me just its name. It carries legends and myths which in one way can only be cured by science. A fantastic opportunity good Doctor! Your photos are always among the most of learning for me....Good show as the Brits say...
