it is the glow effect of the moon's light. It's just in the photo, there is no blue layer there ;-)

This magnification is mind boggling, Subhash.
Well, it might be difficult to explain that blue line along the rim, but let's hope more explanations emerge.
Thanks.

Probably this is blue yellow fringe dew to lens aberration.

Hi Subhash
Very interesting image of the moon.
Did you see the blue line also with the telescope or only on the photo?

Hello Subhash,
A fine capture of part of a full moon.
I don't think the blue edge to the moon is chromatic aberration, but it may be the effect to of the reflected light of the moon being filtered down to the blue end of the spectrum after it has passed through the earth's atmosphere, I guess.
Thanks and kind regards,
Ivan

Nice gear and glass and as fine a moon shot as I have seen. My legs very slowlybreturn. Perhaps one day I shall visit. My friend the three star general is back in Punjab for good. Didn't like our snow. You know those loose fitting shirts made and worn over there . The long waisted ones? I need one. Hives. And acute. One would be a blessing. Can you help. I m two extra large six foot two inches and 220 US pounds.
