[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Recently, my laptop hard disk crashed. I could not retrieve any data from it and, in the mishap, lost all of it.
I looked around for data saved on portable media and found the unedited pictures of my trip to India in the summer of 2006 while I was working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I have edited one picture from that collection and here it is. I had only Sony P200 compact camera at that time. This Small Tortoiseshell I had shot then was somewhat tatty.

The Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae L.) is a colourful and well-known Eurasian butterfly in the family Nymphalidae.

It is found throughout temperate Europe, Asia Minor, Central Asia, Siberia, China, Mongolia, Korea and Japan. There are a few records from New York City which, however, are believed to be of introduced insects.
