|Nightjars are medium-sized nocturnal birds with long wings, short legs and very short bills that usually nest on the ground.Some North American species are named as nighthawks.|
Nightjars are found around the world. They are mostly active in the late evening and early morning or at night, and feed predominantly on moths and other large flying insects.
This snap was clicked in Phansad wildlife sanctury.The sanctury offers a clear sighting of Nightjar since it has large open grasslands within the dense forest.The open grasslands are most suitable for nightjars to lay eggs.

I think you have a nice picture here, the flash in its eye is a little harsh, but cant have everything. I personally have never heard or seen this bird before, thanks for sharing. joelm
