[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Green Vine snake ((Ahaetulla nasuta)suddenly presented itself from a bush about a foot in front of me during a monsoon trail. As you can see it is perfectly camouflaged in the surrounding foliage where is normally resides.

This snake falls somewhere in between poisonous and non poisonous with its mild venom which is definitely not fatal for humans, but which causes swelling.

They are quite slow moving and use their camouflage effectively to catch lizards, birds, frogs etc. It also uses its binocular vision facilitated by its unique longish eyes and pointed snout for hunting.

Hello Himanshu,
What an interesting creature you have come upon. I love the unusual shape of it's head and it's unique slanted pupil. Very pretty green color which is actually quite attractive, even though most people seem to shun from snakes. Wonderful presentation!!
