Caterpillar of the Common Crow butterfly Euploea core. It appears that the light was poor, but a smaller aperture (tripod needed) would have put more of the caterpillar in focus. An interesting document of this unusual insect.

Very effective use of your macro lens, Anil.
Perfect lighting that shows the details on this Caterpillar extremely well. The DOF is also excellent here.
Well done and TFS.

Thanks for sharing this "abstract" :-)) caterpillar. It is indeed a fancy animal - beautifully marked, and thanks to your perfect focus many details are apparent.
Do you remember, on which side was the front i.e. did it move towards the left or the right of the image?
I like your photo very much: a straight forward image of an interesting animal with natural colours. Congratulations.
I wish you a nice evening,
Greetings from South Africa

Hi Anil good pic! I liked the colors and the curve the caterpillar is making and that adds to composition. When u had the luxry of 1/200 of a sec i feel you could have gone for a better DOF by using f-8/ or , f10 so that the tail part would have been within the DOF.
