|The famed Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary is one of the finest Bird sanctuary in India with thousands of Migratory birds making this place their winter home. |
Had recently visited this park after a gap of two years & though the winter has been mild this year, the park was nevertheless in its full glory with thousands of ducks, geese, Storks, Pelicans & even Flamingos.
About red Crested Pochard:
These are widespread winter visitors in the Indian Subcontinent but unrecorded in Sri Lanka. The male has red bill, rusty Orange head, white flanks with black breast. Females have pale cheeks contrasting with brown cap & brown bill.
Feeds chiefly by diving. Habitat - Large lakes with submerged vegetation.

A very colorful duck with beautiful markings. You have done a fine job of photographing it, even in such harsh lighting. I love the bright color of its head, you have captured its eye perfectly.
Very attractive capture of this cute Pochard in Bharatpur, Satirtha.
I like the frontal perspective.
