Cool shot here Rathika
Contrasts really well with that yellow-green background. Well composed and I;m glad you resisted the temptation to crop. Here we see the finch in their environment.

Namaste Rathika, again such an impressive shot, I also like the BG, nothing is disturbing from his beauty, thanks

Hi Rathika,
Just a note on the Common Name and Taxonomy of this bird. The presence of this bird at Okhla is rather surprising. The normally ranging race of all birds formerly associated with the pre-split Lonchura malacca at Okhla should be race rubronigra which is not this bird (rubronigra looks like race atricapilla - ranging in India only in the northeast and neither of these races has the white breast and flanks shown here). So, this is the now accepted split species Lonchura malacca (Black-headed or Tricolored Munia). If one does not want to accept the split of atricapilla (and all races associated to this latter), then this is Lonchura malacca malacca (Black-headed Munia).

Hi Rathika,
Nice picture, the strong back light and the shadow filled in by reflected light has given this photo the look of a watercolor painting. TFS, Anil

A nice grab. Decent composition - the blurred light green backdrop well balanced with the straw colour twig. The contrust colour of the bird (I know it did n't posed for you)placed on the top left imaginative square balanced the whole colours and composition.

Radhika,
Lovely background letting the bird and the plant stand out clearly. Looks like the Munia is building nest somewhere. Great capture.

Hello Rathika,
Beautiful shot of a Black-headed Munia in a fine and simple composition. Amazingly sharp for such low shutter speed. Lovely light contrasting BG.
Very nice indeed!

Hi rathika,
A lovely composed pic , perfect framing , This guy has sat on a perch which really gets this pic a different POV and attention and with a perfect BG for such dark coloured birds.

Hi Rathika,
I really like your choice of composition and framing on this shot. Aspot on exposure in the soft light has produced excellent colors and sharp detail. A beautiful OOF backround. Nice work here.

Such an interesting composition. That long grass in it's beak is a real compliment.
That soft background highlights the details of the bird so well.
One day you might tell me your plus and minus between the D2X and 200.

Hi Rathika,
Outstanding shot of this Munia with superb colours and immaculate sharpness. I like the shape of the stem and the pose the Munia presents. The whitish neutral BG highlights the subjects well. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
