Hello all,

Please note that I have reposted a picture from yesterday. I think this has a better POV and sharpness than the previous post, albeit using a flash. I believe is a more educative picture of the subject.

Thanks for looking.

I spent an interesting morning walking around with a macro lens in the garden in my house. There was some heavy showers the previous night and a multitude of little creatures were actively doing their thing when the sun came out.

I came across this lynx spider sp. (family -oxypidae; thanks haraprasan for helping with the ID) grasping a bee. If you look closely a number of small flying insects are also hovering around the dead bee (once again am unable to identify). I realise the POV and light are not ideal for getting id's but if anyone has any ideas, that will be splendid. Thanks!

Hi Ravi,

Excellent macro with action, perfect timing and focus spot on

Dear Ravi
Good macro shot of the spider eating a bee, and I add your photo to my theme "Animals feeding, part 2.

I must admit, I am amazed that spiders eat bees. I would have thought after living ten years in the middle of nowhere in the bush plus another ten on the outskirts, I would have noticed that :-)
It is a pity that - as you say yourself the images is lacking sharpness.
Thanks for sharing
Warm greetings from South Africa,
Take care
