- Catopsilia pomona
- fanmily: Pieridae
probably a female judged form the coloration of the hindwing margin.

Wonderful. I saw this one earlier but decided to waiting for completion on ID. Very well done in the classic Mana style. The dark background is amazing and it is though you carry various background clothes along with you while these creatures sit and wait patiently. I do not know the tricks of the magician pf photography, but as your friend Pankaj says, patience is one of the qualities needed.

hello sumon,

If i had to take this shot i would have done it the same way and framed it like this only, i felt as if its my post but then when i consider the great lighting, spot on focus and the details of the flower & the butterfly i realise that its the work of Mr Sumon Sinha,

This goes straight to my favourite shots and i think its one of the best butterfly shots i have ever seen, great work & i will be glad if i could shoot a single shot of this level,

Very eye-catching this Common Emigrant picture.
I like the way the light shines through the wings and makes them almost shine. The dark background is perfect as contrast, also towards the beautiful flower. Very well seen.

One might have guessed that flash was used here until on opening the thumnail it is clear that the side light has produced a wonderful translucent effect to illuminate this Common Emigrant in a very attractive way. Great sharpness and composition on the tagetes flower.

The lights direction makes all the difference in a capture, and this is a prime example.
