The smallest birds that can be found in India are called Flowerpeckers. They are very small, not bigger than your thumb. The bird in the picture is one among them .It is called Tickell's Flowerpecker or Pale billed Flowerpecker. They are about 8cms long. They are diminutive, restless olive brown bird with pale white underparts. The bill is short, slender, slightly curved and flesh colored. Both sexes look similar. They are seen singly in deciduous forest. Its staple food is the berries of plant parasites belonging to the mistletoe family. Their sound is like sharp incessant chik-chik- chik uttered while flying across one plant to the other or while hopping restlessly among the branches.Nesting season is February to June. The nest is like a pouch hanging from a twig with a lateral entrance hole. They lay two eggs and both the sexes share in building the nest and feeding the young.
This bird is a regular visitor to a tree bearing small juicy berries in our backyard. It's marvelous to see the way this bird plucks up the berry, sucks its content and spits out the outer cover. It never sits still even while feeding on the berry. This image was taken with

Hi Smitha,
Amazing sharp capture of this very very busy bird. And a nice pose too to portray it. Clear details on its plumage and great lighting and exposure. The OOF BG illustrates the habitat well and looks nice. Excellent POV, DOF and composition. Kudos.

* Sorry, have been a bit irregular, hope to come out of my present predicament soon.

Hello Smitha,
Superb capture of a Tickell's Flowerpecker with excellent sharpness and lighting: it can't be easy to take such a fine shot of this active small bird.
Maybe this is a matter of opinion, but I think the composition would have been better without the top two cms of the image. This does not detract from the basic quality of this shot, which is excellent.
Well done and thanks, Ivan

Hi Smitha.
I am amazed with your brilliant collection. Thank you for kind comments and opportunity to meet you and your gallery.

Great close-up picture of the cute bird and nice scenery. Composition of the shot your POV are superb as well as the details and sharpness of the bird. I like how well the birdís eye is reproduced and how impressive its lance is. Light smooth colourfull BG is wonderful as main subject. May be DOF is shallow quite a little bit (I mean not extremely sharp tail). In such cases I usually prefer f/7.1-f9. But this is matter of taste. My best wishes? compliments and TFS.

Hello Smitha, what a charming little bird. You have caught him with magnificent sharpness and detail, great light on the eye and lovely colours on the plumage. A super pose and pov. Really beautiful all round.

Hello Smitha,
I like the point of view, seeing the bird partly from above!
Good angle of light gives a fine feeling of depth, great details in the plumage!
