[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,
After a long break and struggles with health and work; today I'm posting a picture of "The Common Sailor" Neptis hylas, which is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia and Southeast Asia. It has a characteristic stiff gliding flight achieved by short and shallow wingbeats just above the horizontal.
This is one of the few pictures that i have shot with my new D80.Even even though the picture is decent ,ideally i would have liked to avoid disturbances in the BG but i could not here as this guy liked this perch !!

Excuse me for the date in exif , i had not set it properly in the camera :-)

BG is a bit bussy but OK

TFS this beauty MF

Hi Goutham,
Nice to see you back with a lovely picture of this Neptis. The detail and colours are great, but I see what you mean about the BG. Maybe you could crop it a bit on the left to get rid of some of the odd bits. I've made an extreme version and posted it as a WS. Thanks.

Amazing close-up of beautiful butterfly and impressive scenery. Great combination of the well illuminated and perfectly coloured insect and dumped up nicely smooth ed BG. I like wide DOF and excellent sharpness of entire butterfly as well as the perfect composition. Well done and kind regards.

Hello Gouthan, this is just amazingly perfect. The detail is just so crisp and sharp the dof is just perfect. I can see every part of the butterfly is sharp. Really good exposure the details in the whites is perfect and focus on the eyes is spot on with great light. Very nice shot indeed. tfs Rgds Necip

Goutham, Very nice shot and after a long time. This is very nice shot but personally I believe that the frame may be too much on the corner side. Excellent clarity. Ganesh
