The Orange-headed Thrush (Zoothera citrina) is a bird in the thrush family.

It is common in well-wooded areas of India, China and southeast Asia. Most populations are resident. The species shows a preference for shady damp areas, and like many Zoothera thrushes, can be quite secretive.

The Orange-headed Thrush is omnivorous, eating a wide range of insects, earthworms and fruit. It nests in trees but does not form flocks.

The male of this small thrush has uniform grey upperparts, and a orange head and underparts. The females and young birds have browner upper parts.

I have never seen a thrush like this, it is so beautiful. I love its colours, and you have shown it really well, even showing how the colours blend so very well with the reserve floor.

Hi Satya,
I missed this trip and how very dissapointed I feel now. Wonderful shot of this beautiful Orange Headed Thrush with such lovely colours and details on its plumage. Superb lighting and spot-on focus. Your new lens is giving excellent results. I like your low POV to portray it and your composition. Kudos.

Another fantastic picture of yours..!!
I saw this bird in Thailand, but could not take such a shot of it.
