Brown Skipper on Leaf

I shot this Skipper on my birthday this year.
I had to give it a lot of chase to get a few shots.

Skippers are very difficult to identify. I tried to get some idea about its sub-classification through quick research but did not find much help on most of the Indian butterfly websites.
If anyone can help, I would be grateful.
In the meanwhile, here is a small note from one Indian website:

Hesperiidae or Skippers Butterflies

A family of generally small butterflies with short stout bodies and a characteristic rapid, skipping flight. They actively feed on flower nectar and most species have proboscises that are much longer than butterflies of any other family. Skippers are very difficult to identify in the field and require close examination and study for specie level identification.

PS: Chris from Australia has helped me with the exact ID of this Skipper. It is called the Large Dingy Skipper or Toxidia peron.
This skipper is medium size, dark brown in colour with three yellow dots on each front wing. Male and female look similar except male has the black strip across each front wing and the yellow dots are smaller.
The butterfly rests with forewings half opened and hind wings fully opened.
Their Caterpillars are either green or brown in colour. They feed on different species of monocotyledons grass.
Thanks, Chris.

This skipper obliged you on your birthday, Ram!
He certainly gave way to allow you totake a sharp and well composed image from a fine POV. However despite the high quality of this image I can't give you a definite ID. However I can suggest Pelopidas conjuncta, if that's anything of a lead.
TFS and have a good week,

Hello Ram,

Beautiful capture of this skipper. Very good sharpness. Good composition and nice natural colours.

A skipper very well captured, indeed!
Excellent frame Sir!

Hi Mr. Ram,
A nice capture of this beautiful skipper. Excellent composition and sharp details. A very good POV. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hi Ram,

This is an excellent shot, the detail is just superb as are the colours, and the f/4 has isolated the Skipper from the leaf its standing on just perfectly, POV and composition all spot-on, lovely work.

All the best Rick :)

Hi Ram

Can't help with an exact ID, but its almost certainly from the subfamily Trapezitinae and maybr the genus Mesodina. Hope that helps, they're a lot of similar-looking species in Australia and I imagine its the same in India.
Good catch though with great DOf for only f4. Good sharpness and composition.
