Hi Rathika,
That 600 mm must be one hell of a lens..what a catch!
Superb shot of the rain washed kingfisher with food on it beak. The tuft on the head gives him a punk look.
Crisp shot with excellent details on the bird...love the catchlight in the eye and the expression he carries that you have captured so well.
The Bg compliments the colours of the bird in a nice fashion.TFS & Cheers

Hi Rathika,
What an impressive bird, and wonderfully caught!
The bright colours on their feathers are so beautiful, and makes a vibrant contrast with the background.
Great timing on this feeding moment, as well as the pose got on which we can appreciate the large red bill and its textures.
My compliments and thanks for share.
Best regards,
JM

hi rathika,
beautiful composition, nice pose of KF with prey in its beak, that bit of breeze ruffled the feathers at the back nicely, it looks like a crest. well captured. however, i thought its bit underexposed. this format of 2/3 is good, hope you will maintain this to all your images. tfs.

Hello Rathika,
Colors in your photo look so beautifull. There is such a fine contrast between bird's plumage and beckground's colors. Image is very sharp showing in great details the bird. The moment you have chosen for taking the photo, with bird keeping the fish in her beak, brings even more value to the image.
Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

This is an amazingly beautiful Kingfisher, Rathika.
The colours on this bird are truly magnificent. With the camera on a tripod, you have captured a razor sharp image of this lovely bird. Holding its prey in its beak, it looks elegant and attractive.
I have been wanting to go to Bharatpur for a long time. Did you manage some tiger shots too?
TFS and regards.

Hi Rathika,
What a splendid tele-capture of a beautiful Kingfisher named after my native city of Izmir. You must have a cannon-like tele lens (850 mm, wow) also a very sturdy tripod to achieve this razor sharpness against a flatteringly OOF BG, which finely emphasizes the natural rich pattern and colouration of the "King". Thank you indeed for sharing this superlative image with us my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet
Hi Rathika,
I have visited your great portfolio, now. It full with great shots from Indian marvelous nature. I enjoy to see them.
This is also great for Smyra Kingfisher. It was described from Smyrna (=izmir, 3rd biggest city in Turkiye). Unfortunately it extinct in there, now we can see sometimes in East Mediterranean coast. You are lucky to see this beautiful fisherman. I also saw several additional post of yours from India. All of them great, no exception. In this post, focus, colors and eyes contact great. timing and POV also very nice. TFS, best wishes
