Today I present the upper wings of this beautiful Common Fivering. My last image was a mating scene of this species. The early morning sunlight after a chilly night made this butterfly open its wings to absorb the warmth. This I presume is the best time for shooting butterflies and I took full advantage that day. This was pictured inside the Satkosia Tiger Reserve. Shot taken hand-held. Hope everyone like it.

The Common Fivering, Ypthima baldus, is a species of Satyrinae butterfly found in Asia.

For full details about this butterfly please refer to my earlier post.

Scientific classification -
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta

What can say...its a perfect shot of this beautiful specimen. Indeed the early morning or late afternoon are the perfect times to shoot; not always possible of course. But this is a very good shot, nothing to critique. Perfect work IMO.

The pattern of the wings is so well shown as you have got an excelent image. Moreover very nice details of the body as well as the texture of the wings can be very well seen. The colors are looking natural and there is good contrast between the butterfly and the background.

Hi Sumon!

I believe it's a good idea to keep on going with a picture of the same species. This gives us a better overview on it and shows us this nice butterfly in different situations and positions. As the former picture, this one is technically perfect, too. I appreciate a lot the blurred, but still natural background.

Kind regards

Hi Sumon.
I am impressed a lot with this beauty. Amazing wingspread and POV, ultimate sharpness and details of the butterfly image, nice natural well blurred BG. Terrific , as usual, job. My compliments.

Hi Sumon,
Why common Fiverings? name must be marvelous Fiverings! its enourmous "eyes" in wings looks like menacing, maybe some bird could think that. Certainly cold temperatures are the best moment to photograph insect, they´re not endotermics and needs environment warm to reach more activity.
Best regards

hello Sumon!
beautiful example of Satyrinae
with perfect lighting and great details of the insect ..
hope you best wishes for a peaceful Christmas and happy year 2009 sERGIO
