Common Small Flat

Scientific Name : Sarangesa dasahara

Wingspan : 30 to 35mm

Common Small Flat is a dull brown/black butterfly. The underside is grey brown with diffused dark spots.

This butterfly flies very fast and lands suddenly on the flowers. It flies close to the ground and sometimes return to the same place.

It feeds from flowers of herbs and small bushes, bird droppings and wet rocks. It always rests on the undersides of leaves, and is difficult to spot because of camouflaging.
