[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a shot I got on a grey rainy day last year.
I do hope I get to see some butterflies this year. As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts it's raining so much that there are hardly any insects around.

The Common Mormon (Papilio polytes) is a common species of swallowtail butterfly widely distributed across Asia. This butterfly is known for the mimicry displayed by the numerous forms of its females which mimic inedible Red-bodied Swallowtails, such as the Common Rose and the Crimson Rose.

Most common swallowtail butterfly occur near gardens and fields cultivated with cur-leaf, orange, lemons etc. It occurs everywhere in open woods and gardens at low elevations. It flies close to the ground around bushes, hedges but does not come to wet places. The male is a swifter flier than the female. It is one of the most interesting butterflies and is an excellent candidate for both field and genetic studies. It visits the flowers of Dividivi, Acasias, Cassia, etc. It feeds on cultivated citrus, especially Lime Berry, Orange, Lime, Curry leaf, Bael, Garden Rue and other plants of Rutaceae.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bonjour Goldy,

Ciao Goldy. Even if bit OOF you've obtained an intrigant playing pf light. TFS this species that I never seen.

Hello brother, excellent shot of this butterfly with nice composition and details.
TFS and regards,

Hi Goldy,

The leaves are framing well the butterfly. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Common Mormon butterfly. The late afternoon light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

bonjour Goldy

Namaste brother Goldy,
