I was out of station for the weekend, so my apologies for not being able to visit your shots.

The Lemon Pansy is the most common of the six Pansies in India. It is a very bold butterfly with strong territorial and aggressive behaviour but not as much as the Peacock Pansy. It flies quickly and strongly but with less fluttering of wings. It generally rests on the ground but not so frequently as the other Pansies and visits damp patches more often than the others of the genus. Like the Chocolate Pansy, it is more abundant in forests and distributed throughout South and Central India, upto South Gujrat in the west and West Bengal in the east. In The Himalayas, it can be seen upto 2700m from Kashmir Upto Assam. Besides Aztec Marigold, it visits flowers of Lantana, Bachelor's Button, Lindley Butterflybush, Ceylon Carissa, Coreopsis tinctoria, etc.

Hello Goldy,
Beautiful photo with a very good DOF and in a great composition. Excellent sharpness and natural colours. Beautiful OOF BG.

Dear Goldy!

The butterfly you present us today is a beauty, and you have well put it on stage with good sharpness and rich details. From my very personal point of view the lines and shapes in the background and the ones of the flower create a dizzying effect on the viewer's eyes. On the other side, the deep colour contrasts are very pleasant.

Kind regards

The composition is just righ for this POV angle Goldy and the sharpness and DOF make this a fine portrait of the Lemon Pansy against a contrasting BG. The pink flower adds a splash of colour too.
Thanks and kind regards,

Hello Brother
I like the POV here, which gives a kind of 3-D feeling for the shot.
Warm regards

merhaba Goldy, my brother
lemon pansy's nice shot on purple flower. nice POV/DOF, focus, coloration and composition. blurry BG also great. thanks for sharing, best wishes

Hi Goldy
Wow, what a large butterfly you captured. He compliments the deep fuschia colored flower nicely. I know how hard it can be to capture butterflies as they seem to flutter around quickly.
TFS Janice

Hello Goldy,
Very unusual POV, but perfectly mananged!
I think you've used too much sharpening tool, there are some distortions in the texture of the insect. May be amore opened cut would have needed less sharpening.
Either way, it remains a good photo.

Bellísima toma con encuadre y recortes muy acertados.
Lástima del ligero desenfoque o movimiento en el momento del disparo.
Saludos Goldy.

Hello Goldy,
this is an amazing picture of a beautiful butterfly.
It's not an colorful insect but the markings and pattern are lovely. I like the soft colors too.
The picture is well exposed with good sharpness and really nice DOF, the butterfly stand out well from the BG.
Well done, my friend.
Thanks for your kind words of my previous postings.

Hi Goldy,

The leaves are framing well the butterfly. The close-up point view is showing the details and colors of the Lemon Pansy butterfly on the flower. the afternoon light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Goldy
Voici un papillon qui ne vole pas chez nous, et dont les dessins sont remarquables..;
Merci pour ce spécimen original

Hi Goldy,
I have seen this species here in the parks within our city.
I assume they survive here because it is cold.
They appear only in the summer months.
This one you have presented is most lovely.
Excellent clarity.
Greetings from COLD COLD Calgary.

Hello Goldy

Excellent macro of this butterfly,
with the POV you choose and the way
you framed giving dynamism to the image,
excellent contrast between the color tones, TNS
