Here is another shot of the female purple sunbird.

The Purple Sunbird (Cinnyris asiaticus) is a small sunbird. They primarily feed on nectar, however, they may also eat insects, especially when feeding young. They are seen in pairs or small groups and aggregations may be found in gardens with suitable flowers. They have a fast and direct flight and can take nectar by hovering like a hummingbird but often perch at the base of flowers.

The purple sunbird has distinct sexual dimorfism. The males appear all black except in some lighting when the shining purple iridescence becomes visible. Females are olive above and yellowish below.

Classification:

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Chordata
Class: Aves
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Nectariniidae
Genus: Cinnyris
Species: asiaticus

Hello Vinay,
A very nice photo of this female Purplpe Sunbird. Good sharpness, details and natural colours. A pity that the BG is a bit busy. Pleasing pose and eye contact.
Regards,
Peter

Pleasant image of this interesting Purple Sunbird, which doesn't look purple at all! Good day Vinay! Good clarity and fine natural warm colors. This seems to be a difficult shot, those little birds are very active! Bravo!
Regards,
George Veltchev

Hi Vinay.
I am pleased with your visit and nice words. I am also pleased with your pictures. You have pictured a very cute bird. Despite the poor light conditions image of the bird is exposure good enough and its colouration is visible very well. I also like twig and leaf pattern and delicate BG. Kid regards and TFS.
Alexei.
