Giant Redeye
Gangara thyrisis
Hesperiidae family

Yesterday late afternoon found this beautiful skipper just emerged from its pupal stage and resting on the palm leaf rolled laboriously. It was in our garden and very near to the compound wall (background), lighting was poor and constant wind make it difficult too. Had to use my built in flash for fill light as it was perched on shadow side of its pupa case.
The caterpillar that transformed into adult can be seen in the WS, was following this from that stage. It took nearly 21 days for the metamorphosis..
Hope you will enjoy this black beauty.

Hello Nagaraj,
excellent shot of this skipper, very good details presented ,nice BG and POV well captured with naturel colours.Regards Siggi

Such occasions are rare to shoot and you have taken assiduous care to perpetuate it through conscious effort, Nagral. The newly emerged Skipper sticking to the case looks actually delicate and fragile. Deft use of fill flash.

Hello Nagaraj
very unique capture especially the rolled leaf. The red-eye is so lively and its details are well presented here.
Like the powdery wings as being shown in a pleasant shot.

Hi Nagraj,
Wonderful macro of this Giant Redeye with excellent composition, superb POV, marvellous sharpness and details, brilliant coloration as well. Great work, my friend. I don't know whether we have this species here in Guangzhou, but I've never seen one before. I shot two other Redeye species: Common Redeye and Banana Redeye. I enjoy this black beauty very much!
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Nagraj,
As usual great sharpness, details, clarity, and above all an unique colours scheme.
