[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Yesterday, in addition to my experience of shooting one dragonfly eating the other (which did not seem to make much impression on people here), I also succeeded in shooting a Common Lime butterfly in flight and here it is. The shot was taken hand-held from ground zero, looking up from a distance of about 3 meters at high shutter speed.
I hope at least our friend Asbed with expertise in shooting birds in flight would like this picture.

Papilio demoleus is a common and widespread swallowtail butterfly. It gets its common names from its host plants, which are usually citrus species such as the cultivated lime. Unlike most swallowtail butterflies, it does not have a prominent tail. The butterfly has also been referred to as the Butterfly of Death,a name it shares with a morphologically similar species, Papilio demodocus, which flies in Africa. The butterfly is a pest and invasive species from the Old World which has spread to the Caribbean and Central America.

Hello Ram,
Very successful effort. Sharpness and details are excellent and the coloiurs beautiful. But most of all I like the perfect composition and the DOF with the plants in the foreground. A beauty!
Regards,
Peter

Hello Ram

Sometimes I come view photos on TN but I give
my critiques/comments later, it was the case
for this photo until I read you mentioned my
name as in-flight photos lover ;) so I decide
to come critique only this photo this morning.

When I was viewing the photo (before reading
the notes) in my mind I was telling I tried
few times butterfly in-flight photos but had
never succeeded, I tried with my 17-50mm lens,
I did not have the chance yet to try with
the 85mm fixed focal lens.

What I love more from your photo is that
for the POV we are in the level of the
butterfly and giving us the impression
we are flying with him, with excellent
framing leaving the free space in front
where to fly, beautiful soft light,
great focus, sharpness, details
of the main subject, TFS

Hello Sir,
One of the best picture I ever seen in the TN.
Marvelous.

Hello Ram,
One of the most difficult shots I have ever attempted was to capture a butterfly inflight like this. I believe I got one decent image out of about fifty tries.
You have done of great job of capturing this little beauty from a very low POV. Well done!!
Ron
