I have captured this picture from my window when this Kingfisher was waiting on a dry branch over the pond next to my house.Due to distance I couldn't capture its detail body well.So I didn't framed it tight.

The Common Kingfisher(Alcedo atthis)is a small Kingfisher with seven subspecies recognized within its wide distribution across Eurasia and North Africa. It is resident in much of its range, but migrates from areas where rivers freeze in winter.

Scientific Classification:
Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Chordata
Class:Aves
Order:Coraciiformes
Family:Alcedinidae
Genus:Alcedo
Species:A.atthis(Linnaeus 1758)

This bird has typical short-tailed,large-headed Kingfisher profile;it has blue upperoarts, orange underparts and a long bill.It feeds mainly on fish, caught by diving, and has special visual adaptions to enable to see prey under water. The glossy white eggs are laid in a nest at the end of a burrow in a riverbank.

Hello Srikumar
Beautiful photo with good composition and nice colours.
Regarding your question, I always try to focus on bird eye waiting for an eye contact in order to click. This it is not always easy especially in action photos like my drinking gull. In post processing I used the same amount of sharpness throughout the whole body of the gull before resizing.
Regards,
Christodoulos

Hello Srikumar
Nice capture with good framing.
Nice light management is also appreciated.
Perfect colour and sharpness.
Best wishes,
Samiran da

Hi Srikumar,

Photo is good. But I would have preferred a different composition. So much of space on the right is not required. Instead you could have given the same space towards the left(where the bird is seeing).Or you could have framed a vertical composition.
IMO, if you get a habitat picture, it is very nice to show as it is. No need to blow up the image and make a bold picture of the subject.
These are just my opinion , hope you dont mind.

Hello Srikumar,
Very nice photo of this kingfisher in beautiful light and colours. Nice blurry background too. Good sharpness. I agree with Arjun about the composition. There's a bit to much empty space IMO.
Regards,
Peter

Hello Srikumar,
This Kingfisher seems a little bit lost alone on this twig..the great blurred background helps to give this feeling. But somehow it makes the shot special.
Kind regards
Anne

Hello Srikumar,
Nice little bird....Difficult to shoot because she is very shy....I meet it only once in 4 years and I do not have the chance to take a shoot.

Hello Srikumar,

How are you dear friend? This is a wonderful shot of this little, little kingfisher and what you have done with this photo is right. It looks lovely as it is on that dry branch waiting for the prey to stir in the water. His perch is a beauty in itself. Fine photo in all respects. Thanks for sharing, take care.

Hi Srikumar, Great shot of this Kingfisher by your window. Beautiful colours along with splendid composition and angles. I like so much that you included only one single branch in the frame which looks so cool. Thank very much
Anna

Hello Srikumar

WOW ! what a great chance you have to live near a pond where you can see Kingfishers,
I have to drive 30 to 45 minutes of car to a nature park to see them and I see them only
1 or 2 times on 10 ! not an easy photo to do, you POV obtained its expressive eye-contact,
the light is very beautiful, and I can see enough of details of its plumage, TFS
