[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While shooting birds on school campus yesterday, I reflexively captured a curious happening. A Hoopoe was busy pecking away at the earth near the compound wall, digging out insects and feeding on them. I was taking its pictures while it kept moving along the wall. I would wait for a pose that would appeal to me and then click.
Suddenly a Black Drongo swooped down on the Hoopoe and snatched away the tidbit it had just dug out of the earth. In a single sweeping movement, it was gone after robbing the Hoopoe of its hard-earned meal! I just clicked impulsively and got this action shot. The thing I like myself about the picture is the angry expression on the face of the Hoopoe and the way its heckles are raised in the form of its crest opened all the way. hope you find it amusing.

Hi Ram, In animal kingdom the rule is 'the strong survive'. I guess it is the same for the birds too. The Hoopoe is screaming at the black drongo angrily. What a nature moment you encountered. Great light and composition along with nice POV. Thank for sharing

Hello Ram,
What a shot! Just most interesting to see this scene from nature. So funny to look at the indignant expression of the Hoopoe. Good sharpnesss on both birds, the victim and the thief, and nice to have the shadow of the crest on the wall too. Just great!!

Sometimes suddenly facts they give great action photos like this one,
the action scenery is great with the Black Drongo in-flight and the
Hoopoe launching his complaining call, in a wonderful light,
very fine low POV at their level, excellent focus, sharpness,
details, and contrast, TFS
